I am from Boone, Iowa. Boone is located 15 miles from Ames, Iowa, home of Iowa State University. I graduated from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa, in 2005, with a major in biology and minor in chemistry. Then, I graduated from the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. The week after graduation, I married Cody. I met Cody while he was milking cows part time in West Union, Iowa. We moved to Lena, Wisconsin, in Northeast Wisconsin and I practiced in a small dairy-predominant food animal-exclusive practice for four and a half years. Most of the dairies I worked with milked less than 100 cows. Cody and I both left our jobs to work at a dairy together, with eventual plans of owning it. However, it didn’t work out and we moved to New Bremen. I started at a mixed animal clinic in December 2014 and worked there until June 2022. Since then, I began teaching at the University of Findlay as an adjunct faculty member. At Findlay, I teach food animal medicine and graduate and professional seminar to pre-veterinary students.
Cody and I really enjoy this area of Ohio. It reminds me of central Iowa. I love all the agriculture and the conservative Christian values present here. Our daughter, Kristin, was born in 2016, and attends New Bremen Schools.
